Fall Fun!

A lot has gone on since my last blog post- Worlds was a BLAST! I was in the top call out in both the morning and night shows and barely missed the top 10 placing. There were over 35 girls in my class- and over 20 countries were represented at the WBFF Worlds. Needless to say the competition was fierce!

After Worlds I went right back into my last semester of nursing school and started training for my next show NANBF Pro Qualifier The Gateway in St Louis. I took 2nd in my class and barely missed a pro card.

At the end of October I went to Washington DC with my boyfriend David where he competed at the IFPA Worlds. We were able to go to the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, Downtown DC and around town in Annapolis. I am so proud of my boyfriend and we had a great trip.

Once we got back, we celebrated Halloween by eating Italian Delight, decorating haunted mansions and handing out candy to the neighborhood kids.

Miss Missouri USA pageant was last weekend where I represented Kansas City and won the People's Choice Awards.

Other exciting news- David and I joined The Church of the Resurrection in Leawood where we have been attending, it is a wonderful community and we both are super excited to be apart of it.

All in all, everything has been going great. I could not ask for a better boyfriend, family or friends. I have been blessed with an abundance of opportunities and amazing people in my life and for that I am beyond grateful. God has blessed me that is for sure! Until next time,

Holly

3 days out from the WBFF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!

David and myself at his PRO USA show in Sacramento mid July

Okay, obviously I slacked a little on blogging every week for my training up until THE WBFF WC... last time I blogged was 8 weeks out, and now I am 3 days out.. all I can say is that TIME FLIES!

Since then I done some SERIOUS work to my physique, many thanks to Layne Norton (Bio Layne, LLC) who I worked with for my nutrition for this show. He helped guide me through this process to lean out more than I did last time- which I DID!!

As of right now I am 123 lbs, and 12.5% bodyfat.. in May on stage I was 127 lbs and roughly 14% bodyfat.. I don't know how much I have to lose in 3 days but I am happy with my progress :)

Beyond that I have been busy finishing summer classes- only 1 semester to go before I graduate with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing with my RN!!!!!!!!!

Also,I want to thank my boyfriend, David who has been a saving grace! It has been amazing having a partner in crime who understands the hard work, diet, and work ethic that goes into training for a show since he is a professional natural bodybuilder himself. I am beyond grateful for all of his help throughout this process as I have trained for THE WBFF WC :)
My other training partner- David's dog, Georgia who has been a super star sport in my training :)

David and I in St. Louis at the IFPA Masters Cup in July

D & myself at my friend Lindsey's wedding in Iowa on the 4th of July !

Lastly, a big thank you to my sponsors, SEI for helping me get ready for the WBFF WC, and to Team Supplement Source for your support.

xoxo

8 weeks out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week was CRAZY! I started Summer school for nursing (only 6 months until I graduate!) - taking Maternity (OB) and Leadership. As if my summer wasn't busy enough training and working.. Now I have class, clinicals and studying to do! I must find more time....

Other than school being added into my already busy lifestyle (Still adjusting, lol) this week was a productive week in the gym. Work outs varied from weight training, Crossfit, Elliptical trainer, stair master and walking Georgia (Boxer) up and down hills.

Eating a healthy balanced diet and continuing to make progress. :-)

This weekend is going to be a busy one- 2 tests Tuesday and Wednesday next week -- lots of studying! Also a baby shower on Sat, and a wedding on Monday!

All is good in the life of Holly. I could not be more blessed with such wonderful friends, family and peers.

Although my life is crazy busy, I am still able to create balance which is key!

God bless & Happy Fourth of July

Ps- Check out my new helmet & gloves! Thanks to David... I will be protected when riding along on his bike! :-)

I'm in the yellow- killing a Burpee at River Market Crossfit :-)

9 weeks out until the WBFF WORLDS!

This was my phsyique for the WBFF Central US Championships. I am 5"8, I weighed 127 lbs and was 14% bodyfat.. for WBFF Worlds I plan on weighing between 120-123 and coming in between 12-13% bodyfat
(Stage make up practice)

Only 63 more days until I step on stage again to compete with The WBFF. I could not be more excited or ready for the next 9 weeks of training, posing, dieting and mentally preparing to ROCK the stage!

A glimpse into my training for WORLDS:
-Running 15-20 miles per week
-Crossfit 4 times a week
-1 HEAVY leg day
-Ab's 4 times a week
-Posing practice 3-5 hours per week

I do not plan on cutting my calories too low because of the amount of exercise I am doing- I will cut bodyfat through a combination of a caloric deficit and through calories burned.

Right now I am at 16% bodyfat, 131 lbs so I am in good position for where I want to be in 9 weeks.

I will post progress pics soon =]

Until next week, HAPPY TRAINING & GET AFTER IT! Only YOU can accomplish your goals!!

Peace, love & training,

Holly

70 days out to the WBFF Worlds

This past week I went on a trip to Vegas. Some might think that is an interesting place to go while training for the WBFF Worlds-- but I continued to be productive even in "Sin City". I worked out everyday, enjoyed the spa, pool, shopping, I even went to an Oxygen bar. I also had the privilege of going to the Miss USA preliminary competition which was an amazing learning experience.

Starting today I am changing my cardio to long distance running. I have a running schedule mapped out for the next 70 days, and this fall I also plan on running a half marathon. (Might as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone, right?)

My official diet for WBFF Worlds will not start until July 1st- 57 DAYS out, but I still like eating clean and healthy. This meal is grilled asparagus, 4 oz of fiesta lime chicken, and 4 oz of sweet potato with 1 tsp all natural almond butter and cinnamon :-)

Check out this month's issue of Kansas City Fitness Magazine. It features my bio along with the rest of Team Supplement Source :)

My personal transformation & journey to WBFF WORLDS

Over the past 5 months I have completely transformed my life. I gained a considerable amount of weight after ending college track spring of 2010, and continued gaining weight until December 2010, when I finally realized I needed to do something about it.
Since December 17, 2010, I have not looked back. I have hit bumps in the road, like anyone else, But I have not let that hold me back from continuing to improve my health and wellness.

The next 87 days will be the most intense and gut wrenching of my life. I am preparing myself for the WBFF Worlds in Toronto on August 27, 2011. I want to be in the best possible physical condition and want to be 100% mentally ready.

Over the next 12 weeks I will be blogging about my experience, training, nutrition, tips, struggles & triumphs. This is going to be ONE WILD RIDE!
